Michael G. Fisher, CLF®
Managing Partner

Michael started his career with New York Life in April of 2004 in the Boston General Office. He found his niche working with the affluent pre-retiree marketplace helping him achieve Executive Council* 3 years in a row. In the summer of 2008 Michael was promoted to Partner and began to develop his team in the Boston area leading him to achieve several recruiting awards including Gathering of Eagles and Rookie of the Year. In the fall of 2012, Michael continued to select and develop talented men and women earning him the prestigious title of Senior Partner. In February 2013, he was named Managing Partner of the West Texas General Office, and the office has grown dramatically under his leadership. While in Lubbock, Michael led his office to an unprecedented National Trophy for “New Organization Retention” in 2014. Then in February of 2016, Michael accepted the challenge to lead one of New York Life’s flagship offices – the Illinois General Office located in Schaumburg.

Michael is a graduate of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and holds licenses in life, Accident¹ and Health¹, FINRA Series 6, Series 63, Series 66, Series 7, and Series 24. He also maintains a managerial leadership designation, CLF®, created specifically for financial services professionals. Michael resides in Palatine, Illinois, with his wife Kristen and their daughter, Addison.

Anil Pandya
Senior Partner

After Anil migrated to the U.S. with his family from India in 1997, he started his career with New York Life. Since the beginning, he adopted the philosophy “If you are not excited and passionate about what you do on a daily basis, how can you create that passion in others?”

Through this passion, he’s been able to achieve all his personal and financial objectives, such as joining the management team in 2009. His consistently has been recognized by ranking among the Top 50 Partners in the country for four years. Anil has hired and developed a team of talented men and women that are very successful in their careers with New York Life. In September of 2017, he was promoted to Senior Partner.

Anil is married to his wife Praful, and has two sons, Amit, who is a Corporate Vice President in Retail Annuities in New York Life's Home Office, and Sumit, who is a chemical engineering specialist with Honeywel. The Pandya family has been blessed with four grandchildren.

 

John Kim
Senior Partner

John Kim’s enthusiasm and determination towards life has led him to a successful career with the New York Life Insurance Company. John graduated from the University of Illinois—Chicago in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Looking for a career that he could control his own destiny with unlimited potential of income, John joined New York Life shortly after graduation.

During his years as an agent, John was the 2011 New Org Agent of the Year, qualified for Executive Council for two consecutive years in 2012 and 2013, and was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table in 2013. He was an agent for about a year and a half when he was offered to be promoted to a Partner, but wanted to wait to build more connections and experiences before accepting his promotion to Partner in 2014. Shortly after his promotion in 2014, John received the View from the Top award, an award for key performance targets in sales and recruiting. With his continued success, he was recognized as a Top 50 Partner of 2016 at New York Life, promoting an agent from his team to a Partner in 2017. In September 2017, John was promoted to Senior Partner of the Illinois General Office.

John came to the U.S. at the age of 10 and grew up in New Jersey and Colorado. Outside of work, he is married to his beautiful wife Claire Yi. They welcomed their son Harvey on November 2, 2016, the same day that the Chicago Cubs won the World Series. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his team with BBQ as he strongly believes in having a close tie with his team of agents. His team is involved in nonprofit organizations together, from events involving senior citizens to Korean women’s international network that empowers and encourages professional women to network and mentor each other.

 

Joseph "Joe" Choe
Partner

Joe graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with an Economics degree and holds his licenses in Life and Health, FINRA Series 63 and 7. He is married to Gin Choe and they have a beautiful daughter, Ellie.

Joe started his career at a trading company in the S&P 500 Options Pit at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and preceded by trading the London Futures. He left the industry to start a sales career with a family owned business, followed by careers with nationally known brands. He still had a passion to find a career that makes a bigger impact on the community in the financial services sector; one, where he would have control over his career and most importantly a company that he can trust.

The company he found was New York Life, where he began his career in 2015, finding success as a Financial Services Professional helping young families and affluent pre-retirees with their financial goals. Achieving Executive Council* every year and mentoring agents has driven him to the opportunity of joining the management team. He was promoted to Partner in early 2018. With a genuine and candid approach to business, he is looking forward to building his team and helping them become successful Financial Professionals, simultaneously making huge impacts in their communities.

 

Mark O'Leary
Partner

Mark O’Leary came to Chicago in 1997 from South Boston to attend Lake Forest College on a Handball scholarship. After graduating in 2001, he spent several years working for a small business consulting firm as a top sales representative and Senior Executive. Mark decided he wanted to further his career in helping others by pursuing an opportunity with New York Life. With hard work and determination, Mark was the first person in the history of the Illinois General Office to become an Associate Partner within 12 months of starting his career at New York Life.

Using his past managerial experience and customer service background, Mark is excited to help guide new agents in their career path. He is extremely dedicated to the advancing of his team and wants them to be the best at helping them exceed all of their client’s financial objectives.

Mark holds licenses in Life, Accident and Health, FINRA Series 6, and Series 63. He currently resides in Palatine with his wife, Samantha.

 

Eric McElmeel
Partner

Eric McElmeel is a top Agent-turned-Partner, who is passionate and purposefully committed to increasing the standard of living and quality of life for his clients and the agents he serves.

For the second consecutive year in a row, Eric achieved the highest honor in a General Office by ascending to the #1 Agent (out of 114). Eric’s insatiable work ethic and drive is dwarfed only by his commitment to take care of his clients.

After being an agent for eight years, Eric was chosen for a leadership position. He enjoys developing new people and wants to be a role model for someone else, like his mother, Elisa, was for him.

When he is not working, you’ll find Eric playing golf and spending time with family.

 

Todd Couture
Partner

Todd Couture joined New York Life to pursue a carrier in Financial Services, after eight years working as a sales director outside of the industry. He finished his first successful year as an agent in 2019. Shortly after he was offered the opportunity to lead his own team out of the Illinois General Office, then qualifying for Executive Council* in 2020. Todd resides in Huntley with his wife, Jennifer, and their three children, Mika, Eli and Annette.

 

Ria Battisti
Associate Partner

Ria Battisti joined New York Life in October 2018 with the goal of joining the management team. With her prior banking experience and holding her securities license (SIE, 6 and 63) she was able to achieve two consecutive Executive Councils and headed into the Associate Partner Program in February 2021. She would not have been able to obtain this goal without the support of her husband, Steve, and son, Carter, along with her trusted partner, Eric McElmeel, and teammates. Ria is passionate about growing the Illinois General Office and developing successful agents. She has seen the opportunities a strong company such as New York Life can give to individuals and wants to help others achieve their dreams. When she is not recruiting or developing her agents in the field, she enjoys spending time with her family, golfing and visits to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

 

Agnes "Anjo" Urlings
Sales Development Manager

Anjo was born and raised in Holland and has always loved to travel. She received her Bachelor’s in Tropical Soil Fertilization and Irrigation. This study made it possible to spend a year in Mexico in 1987 where she met her husband. After they got married and given their entrepreneurial spirit, they opened a small business which they would run for the next 10+ years. Then, in July 2000, hoping to get to the United States, Anjo’s husband accepted a position as a General Manager for a local wholesaling business. Although the position was great, and she enjoyed what she was doing, she was looking to get back to owning her own business. She accepted an agent role at the New York Life office in Schaumburg, Illinois. Since then, due to her outstanding sales results, she was promoted to Sales Development Manager to pursue her passion for training and developing new agents.

 

Jennanne Dougherty, J.D.
Corporate Vice President - Agency Standards

Jennanne Dougherty joined New York Life in November 2010, after working for Smith/Barney, Citigroup and E*Trade. She has been in the financial services industry for five years and has worked in compliance and operations for ten.

Jennanne received a Bachelor of Science in Finance/Business from Colorado State University and a Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University. This diverse background in law and finance uniquely qualify her for her role as Agency Standards Consultant. Jennanne and her husband, Evan, live in Hinsdale with their three children.

 

Amanda Meehling Victoria, FLMI, ACS
Corporate Vice President - Service

Amanda is an Illinois native. She obtained her Bachelor’s from Millikin University where she studied Marketing. Amanda started her New York Life career as a staff member in the Jacksonville General Office in February of 2007. She was chosen to enter the Associate Administrative Manager program in 2008, transferring to the Washington DC area where she spent time training in both the Greater Washington and Northern Virginia General Offices. In 2009, Amanda spent a short time training in the Greater Atlanta General Office before she was promoted to the position of Administrative Manager in the Savannah General Office. In Savannah, she was recognized with the Best in Class Award of the South Central Zone for 2013 and 2014. As of September 2014, she transferred to the Illinois General Office and was later promoted to Corporate Vice President in March 2016. She went on to receive the Operations Management Excellence Award in 2016 for her efforts in the Illinois General Office.

As the local Volunteers for Good Coordinator for the New York Life Foundation, Amanda spends her time volunteering and supporting local organizations, such as the Sheilah A. Doyle Foundation’s child bereavement camp, the American Diabetes Association and the Woodfield Area Children’s Organization.
